This is the riverbank of the support advertisement "Cheering AD."
The monthly annual "Buzzed OOH Summary" selected by Cheering AD will look back on this month as well📣

In May 2025, OOH (outdoor advertising) went a step further "outside the imagination."
This time, there are five films that explode with new and interesting advertising, including "an unexpected combination," "interaction between real and fiction," and "a slow-paced production."

Be sure to check out the true nature of its town and social media!

What's OOH?

"OOH" stands for "Out of Home" and is called "outdoor advertising" in Japanese.

It refers to advertising media such as traffic and outdoor advertising, such as train and bus ads, airports and station ads, body wrapping ads, and outdoor signs.

Most of the support and Senil ads that everyone has posted are OOH!

OOH that buzzed in May 2025

1 | It's an unusual yet so addictive! "Grandball" x "Medalist" Collaboration @ Ikebukuro Station

Estimated number of reposts: 4,020
Estimated number of likes: 9,159

A collaboration ad between the popular works "Grand Blu" and "Medalist," which are currently being serialized in Monthly Afternoon, is unexpectedly being made at Ikebukuro Station!
The direction that intersects the worldviews of "two people who should never intersect" led many people to be surprised, saying, "Was it a Grand Prix, a youth sports manga?"

The catchphrases are also excellent, and this is a film that really brings out the "each of youth."
OOH's unique collaboration is a skill that can be seen in.

2 | Things you should not see before boarding the Shinkansen (but you want to see it)
Netflix "Bullet Train Blast" @ Sendai Station

Estimated number of reposts: 2,314
Estimated number of likes: 11,000

It was a hot topic that the display location was in front of the Shinkansen boarding station.
Suddenly, a bullet train explosion was displayed in front of the Shinkansen stop at Sendai Station.
It became a hot topic on social media for "I'm about to ride it now..." and "I'm scared of timing," and it was no longer an advertisement, but it was more of an "experienced prank."

Incidentally, the following week's posting was Senken Kogyo, which supports Tohoku's infrastructure.

The "live feel" of OOH was shining, including the coincidence that "the bullet train that was blown up last week has been repaired this week..."

This is Shinjuku Wall 456, located in the east-west free passageway at JR Shinjuku Station. I was so moved to see this ad! Hayabusa will make good use of this 45.6m long signage!

It's irresistible to feel real. You're using this special signage well!

This is JR Shinagawa Station.

Shinagawa Station does not leave! But there's already spoilers.

3 | It was so natural that I thought it was an advertisement! Hoshino Gen 6th album "Gen" Togoshi Ginza x public bath OOH

Estimated number of reposts: 5,794
Estimated number of likes: 90,000

The OOH of Hoshino Gen's 6th album, Gen, is so familiar to the town that you should be careful not to miss it.
It attracted attention for its exquisiteness, such as the walls of Togoshi Ginza and the mirrors of public baths in Shinagawa Ward, which blended into an extension of life.

The atmosphere gives the impression of, "I wonder if this ad has been around for decades...?"
I felt the possibility of a new way of showing it, eliminating the ad-like feel.

Incidentally, the week before this advertisement was launched, a massive announcement was made at Shinjuku Wall 456, the east-west free corridor at JR Shinjuku Station!

4 | "ZOJIRUSHI" is also stoked by Abe-chan's overseas fans @Yumeshima Station Poster

Estimated number of reposts: 5,717
Estimated number of likes: 76,000

Abe Hiroshi, a smiley-held rice cooker, appears at Yumeshima Station, the venue for the Kansai Expo.
Overseas fans have also responded to this overwhelming presence, saying, "Who is this Japanese actor!?"

Incidentally, Mukai Osamu appears on the other side of the ticket gate, and an unexpected showdown is in a cool old man.

OOH will catch your eye the moment you get off at the station, and this is a Japanese impact.

5 | Unexpected "Synchronous debut" has been realized "Detective Conan" x "Mission: Impossible" collaboration ads

Estimated number of reposts: 11,000
Estimated number of likes: 51,000

Suddenly, Kogoro Mori (Mouri Kogoro) and Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) stand in line with the street vision of Ikebukuro.

The latest work on Detective Conan and new work on Mission: Impossible have made an unexpected "Ikeoji collaboration."
What's more, both films have been a miraculous debut, with the start of the TV/movie series in 1996!

The dream-like double starring role was a great collaboration that will appeal to movie fans as well.

Survey period: May 1, 2025 to May 31, 2025
Research method: Collect X (Twitter) posts containing OOH-related words (such as "station advertising" and "vision") within the above period, and calculate the number of posts and likes for each post.
*There may be some errors from the actual numbers of this analysis depending on the timing.

This month was a month where OOH's unique mechanisms shine, such as "impossible encounters" and "a little scary but can't take your eyes off the spot."

And once again I felt that
Advertising means that it can be a "initial emotion" rather than just a post.

I want to stop at the station and tell someone on social media.
I hope that more OOH will increase in the future.

See you next month with ads that will make you want to say, "Oh, I saw this!"
